DOMAIN CONTROLER FAILURE
HI Dear,
last monday morning it was raining with heavy tundering so unfortunate when i came to the
office i found that my domain DC has gone off and when i power it on it gave me message saying NTLDR IS MISSING PRESS ANY KEY TO START and since then most of my end users counldnot access there computers, no sharing of resources eg printers sharedrive and the
intranet is not going at all therefore i have to remove the users network cables so that they cant logg in then later i return the cable so that they can access the basis server inorder to perform transaction services
what is the cause?
how it can be solve ?
what preventive measurement can be done ?

You can perform a repair without an ERD using the Windows CD. If this does not work, you can perform a parallel installation of Windows to recover files and folders but be sure not to overwrite existing data accidentally, such as by installing (and thus writing) over them.
If you are unable to successfully perform the repair, the second option would be to reinstall and perform an authoritative restore of Active Directory from backup. Now if you do ont have a backup to restore from, then a fresh installation is in order, followed by recreating all of the user accounts and attempting to salvage any data.

do u have Emergency repair disk,
if yes then try to repair from server bootable cd and use repair option.
at the time of repair it ask for Emergency repair disk.
