I've been searching for a while but can't seem to find an answer. I have Windows 7 and I'm wondering if Visual Studio 6 Runtime is supported or not. We have several legacy apps that we don't want to rewrite. Can someone point me in the right direction?

According to the MS Website Visual Basic 6 Runtime will be supported through the lifetimes of XP – Windows 8.  I have included an excert from the MS Website on this.  I hope that this helps you.

The
Visual Basic team is committed to “It Just Works” compatibility for

A Google search for [ Does Windows 7 support Visual Basic 6 Runtimes ] provides numerous links to answers. In particular it lists a Statement of Support from Microsoft that states:

The Visual Basic team is committed to “It Just Works” compatibility for Visual Basic 6.0 applications on Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 including R2, Windows 7, and Windows 8.

Additional detail shows that it should be supported at least through Windows 8.

Windows 9 should also support the VB6 (Visual Basic 6.0) programming language.
But Microsoft don't usually confirm this in advance, so we shall have to wait until it is launched.
