Does V6R1 Support previous versions
Does V6R1 still support older versions of IBM OS/400. E.g. does it still support IBM System36, IBM System 38, File naming conventions (TU.TABLE),relative files of System36 etc

Yes.
There is the caveat that an option that is not installed cannot support anything, so be sure to install the options that you need. That has been true for many versions/releases into the past.
If you want support for the S/36 environment, for example, then you need to ensure that 5761SS1, option 5, "System/36 Environment", is installed. Similarly, you should review options such as 5761WDS, option 32, "System/36 Compatible RPG II".
Note that some options <b>might not be</b> <i>automatically</i> installed. You should verify that needed options are selected for installation. Options might have separate licensing.
