Does SQL Server 2008 allow for the datatype “datetime”? I’ve primarily worked on SQL Server 2005. I found out about the gap when I built an entity framework model while using a 2008 database. When I tried to update the entity on a 2005 database I got the following error:
The version of SQL Server in use does not support datatype 'datetime2
I did not use any 2008 features when I built the database. I can't find any reference to “datetime” in the code. The column is defined as "datetime" in the database.
