A question submitted on SearchExchange.com Does an Outlook Mobile Services server have to run the Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) to function? For example, my university has a server running on IIS that handles the e-mail to phone conversion / carrier lookup / and all that jazz. Does the server have to be an IIS server or can it be open source (tomcat axis 2 web service and java)?

Hello,
to my knowledge it surely has to be IIS because of the integration between Exchange and IIS.
