Depending on who you ask, VDI adoption is becoming a hit-or-miss among enterprises. However, desktop virtualization expert Matt Kosht believes VDI adoption won't go mainstream due to the following factors:
  1. Less reliance on Windows
  2. Session-hosted virtualization
  3. Desktop-hosted virtualization
  4. Microsoft licensing
  5. Data access
Would you agree? Do you think VDI adoption will ever go mainstream?

I've seen VDI in quite a few businesses and I love it from a security perspective. Yet, many of these businesses are moving away from VDI. It looks good on paper but once IT gets enough complaints about usability, usability is going to win. Sad but true reality we work in.
