Do you need requirements Acceptance Criteria
A BA colleague said that if requirements have been wriiten in sufficient detail that requirements acceptance criteria is not required? As a Tester I find that writing acceptance criteria for each requirement adds value as it makes the user re-examine there requirements and help clarify them.

Answer Wiki:
I would say that an acceptance criteria is only needed for requirements that are not directly testable, and thus a criteria needs to be defined to decide whether the requirement can be considered as met based on the results of alternative tests. I don't think it depends on the detail level of the requirements, but on the testability of the requirements themselves.
