 Distribution Lists in Exhcange 2003
Hello everyone, Earlier today I created a distribution list in Exchange 2003 using Active Directory Users & Computers, I gave it an email address but the DL is not showing in the Globa Address List for some reason. I've done this before and never had any problem, but for some reason I have one now. Can someone help please?? Thanks

Answer Wiki:
How long has it been since you created this DL? Are you using Offline Address Books? Sometimes you have to wait for the rebuild schedule. Please let us know the time difference between when you created it and when you last closed and opened Outlook and checked the GAL.

Hello,

If you haven’t done so already, on the DL’s property page click the Exchange Advance tab and confirm you do not have the option ‘Hide from Global Address List’ checked.

Good Luck!

Hello,

I read somewhere (don’t ask me where since I don’t remember) that in Exchange any object that has an e-mail address associated to it must receive an e-mail before it appears in any Global Address List. In other words, if you send a test e-mail to this new distribution list it should show up.

Hope this helps.
