Disk space on a virtual machine

Hi, I attend ITT Tech, and am majoring in the IT field. My question is I am setting up file servers on my Active Directory 2008, I need a disk 1. All my disk are allocated, I have disk 0 and cd-rom, and nothing more, Can I create a VHD for my disk 1 that is needed for my client server networking class. Thanks

If you have enough hard drive space simply create a dynamically expanding vdisk and do not pre-allocate it.  I would recommend adding a second hard drive to your Dell, running your base OS and all the VMs on a single spindle would be terrifyingly slow.
