I liked the idea of bad controller. But before I did that I decided to check other hardware components. To cut a long story short, it turned out to be a faulty CD-ROM. It seems that the Windows CD wasn&#039;t being read properly. After I replaced the CD-ROM, the reformatting completed without a hitch.
