User profiles
We run a domain with windows 2003 aqnd server 2000 enterprise servers and XP workstations. Recently we have had trouble with user profile folders missing parts. One day a user is logged on no problem, next day they get a new profile with none of their files. If you look in the old profile the only folder there is either the application settings folder or local settings folder, nothing else. A user can have there profile come up missing on one computer but not another. THey can log off, and on, shut down and restart with no problems then suddenly one day it is all gone. The problem seems intermittent and random. Any ideas?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Sounds like someone else is logging onto the machine and deleting the profile to free up some space.

Are the computes shared between several users?

We find this happens for certain Windows updates. It always seems to happen right after one is released but I am not sure why though. Ed
