Hi, I need to disable the automatic defragmentation in Windows 10. I have a HDD that it's been scanning for several hours and it's taking way too much time. Thanks.

Check whether the task scheduler is configured correctly. Open task scheduler, task scheduler library, then microsoft > windows > defrag  and here you can disable scheduleddefrag.

I'm currently running Win 10 on numerous computers and my defrag is not scheduled to run automatically on any. I did not change any settings either. Are you sure this is not being triggered by something else?
