We are in the process of preparing the server for installation of MySAP ERP 2004 SR1. I have one questions related to the directory structure.
The installation guide says the directory structure should be /oracle/<DBSID>, /usr/sap/<DBSID> etc.
However, we would like to have something like /prod/crm/oracle/<DBSID>, /prod/crm/usr/sap/<DBSID>
Will the above directory structure work for SAP Installation, or we must have the oracle and other SAP directories under root.
I am concerned about the Environment variable which will point to /oracle/<DBSID> and any other default paths.
Do these needs to eb changes in all the reference manually...or the SAP installation will not work with the above directory structure.
The reason for the directory structure is for the fail over and restore process where we want to easily identify that the restore is from prod based on the directory structure.
Any input will be helpful.
