Hi! we are an ISP with an 3com 5642 router, with a fastEthernet WAN link of 12Mbps. We want to upgrade to 20Mbps. Will this router uphold this upgrade?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

It should. The unit supports up to 4 Wan modules. The fastest module appears to be a T3 which is 43 mb. It all depends on your current connections, what types are available to you, and if you have module slots open.

Product Specifications – From 3Com

Ports: One console, one AUX serial; four MIM slots

WAN Interfaces: ISDN, ADSL, E1, T1, T3, E3, high-speed serial, X.25, PPP, PPPoE, MP, Frame Relay, HDLC/SDLC

WAN Routing: IP, IPX, OSPF, BGP-4, Integrated IS-IS, RIP V1/V2, Static Routing, MPLS L2 and L3 VPN
