Paravirtualization is a general concept on creating a software interface between a Virtual Machine and the Host (Hypervisor). It’s usually used to enhance VM performance or access. So this is done for machine virtualization. Application Virtualization virtualizes just what an application needs to run, the files ,registry, and environment variables. The applications is they separated from the local OS (files etc) but it actually still runs on the local PC (or VM). Thus, App Virt is at the OS/App level, Paravirt is at the VM/Host level
