Dialing out to a paging service
Has anyone ever written a program that runs in batch and dials a paging service? I would like the program to navigate the service's prompts and and leave a message. The message can simply be a string of a few digits. Please respond if you know how to 1- dial the service or 2- simulate a human leaving a page Thanks to all.

Answer Wiki:
Virtually every paging system that uses touch-tone can take type-ahead. If you have a dial-modem (I got rid of my last one more than a decade ago), you can use that to dial out, pause a second or so at appropriate places, and then send the digits. The easiest way to do this is with Hayes command sequences. However, most paging systems now take eMail input, so that's a much easier option. --- Sheldon Linker (sol@linker.com) Linker Systems, Inc.
