Keep in mind if you do allow your calls to go off net (by allowing calls to be forwarded directly to a number outside of your PBX) you are opening up your system to hackers-
If you have a voice mail system such as call pilot you should have a feature called remote notification- This feature allows you to “alert” the end user or cell phone when a message has been left on said number and you can even schedule days and times for the alert to operate. The only issue is it will continue to alert the end user until the acknowledge and listen to the message -
