Hi,my local users must authenticated by their user name provided to access the internet by cyberoam firewall. other than local users are need to access through mikrotik gateway. mikrotik is connected to my core switch and switch is splitted to other location and connected to wifi devices.

What do you mean by “authentication” from a firewall? What are you authenticating? And once again, are there any devices other than WiFi devices attached to the Mikrotik?

Hi tnks for your reply,same network means in a common physical medium. blocked means i cant communicate btwn my local network systems unless its get authenticate by the mikrotik gateway.

“DHCP” is not a “gateway”. A device can provide both, but they are not the same functions. Does your Mikrotik provide any kind of NAT for WiFi users? Are there any devices that are not WiFi connected to the Mikrotik?

Hi, tnks for your reply. my local network is not in dhcp, only wifi access in dhcp. for local authentication i have cyberoam firewall for wifi i have mikrotik firewall. my requirement is 1. wifi users has to access internet and my intranet application through dhcp mikrotik gateway. 2.desktop connected in the same network can able to access through my local gateway (cyberoam) for authentication.

Yes, you can. As with everything else, it just needs to be configured correctly and appropriately. I have two wireless networks here with their own DHCP servers and network addresses plugged into my main network with its own DHCP. We had a similar office (and inter-office) configuration at my previous employer site.

A problem with this question is that it technically contradicts itself. There are, however, reasonable assumptions that can be made if the network addresses are correct. The reference to “same network” must mean “physical” rather than “logical”.

What do you mean by this “both the local network and WiFi are in the same network”?????The Config on the router will denote what network this is ok. Can you without to much specifics post what has been done so far.SSID – Port TCP/IP x.x.x.x/24Physical Port on Router – Route information to x.x.x.x/23

Since the network address seems to be different, there shouldn’t be a problem with two DHCP servers. You’d need two, and they would broadcast to different networks.. And they apparently aren’t on the same network segment because they don’t have the same network address. But I’m not quite grasping what is meant by “blocked”. Blocked from what? — Tom

Do you mean you are using two different DHCP network on the same network segment? The reason this is bad is that the initial DHCP request is broardcast and there is no way of stopping the broardcast going to both or the wrong one. Either disallow the wireless netwrok from routing the DHCP traffic or add the DHCP scope of the wireless to your normal DHCP server.
