When attempting to add a target through DFS manager in Windows 2003, we are receiving the following error:
"In order for <servernamepath> to join replication, file replication service on <server> needs to be configured as auto-start and running. The error listed below occurred during the configuration process. You can manually finish the configuration by clicking "yes", or click "no" to re-configure. Error: RPC server unavailable".
We have gone onto the server that we are trying to add and have verified that FRS is running and is set to automatic. DFS has not been replicating properly between targets for approximately 2 weeks now, and one of the targets we originally had mapped disappeared. Any suggestions or guidance would be most appreciated. Thanks to all who respond.
