I've been recently working on an iSeries to .NET compact framework project. It includes RPGLE programs that are exposed as web services / and a Windows mobile app that uses the web services. Now, each of my iSeries programs have a specific web service wrapper and a .NET app reference. But I'm trying to come up with a more generic using XML.

I'm fairly familiar with XML in .NET but not with iSeries. Which iSeries tools would you recommend? Thanks for the help!

It's not clear what answers are relevant. The likely choices would seem to be the tools that should have been used for the past decade. That is, the progression of tools through WDSC into the current Rational developer's toolset would seem the best direction for most. But if that's not the path you've been on for years, it's not clear what should be done.

What is your current iSeries development environment like? How long has it been in place and is it your default environment (for iSeries)?
