We are trying to get a desktop 7940 ip phone to work through a wireless bridge/switch that connects wirelessly to a cisco access point. I've checked with a couple of product vendors (Linksys) who told me that this was unsupported. They believe that it is possible but couldn't tell me how to set up their device. Any ideas? Thank you.

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

It’s usually not recommended to run VoIP over wireless. 802.11 often drops the connection for a split second which will greatly impact your voice quality. At least my wireless does several times through out the day (my VPN connect drops for no reason).

VoIP can be done over wireless but like Mrdenny said I wouldn't advise it either. You would need a VERY reliable connection with less than 1% packet loss and less than 100ms of jitter. What problem are you having? is the sound cutting out? If so see if your system has a jitter buffer that you can adjust. If you can setup the wireless as a separate site then you can make adjustments to it without changing the rest of the phone system.
