Desktop and Helpdesk Job Demand In Sacramento and Bay Area
I'm considering getting the MCSA so I can start doing desktop or helpdesk work. The question is, are there very many desktop or helpdesk jobs in Sacramento or the Bay Area? I come from a technical background and worked in the field troubleshooting and repairing servers, disks and printers on MPE so that gives you an idea of how long ago I did hands-on. I also worked in a customer call center, as a factory level support guy for array, servers and last but not least a manager in R&D. Needless to say since I was a manager for a lot of years I'm a bit stale in regards to hands-on work. Due to corporate downsizing I find myself investigating new options. So as I investigate a new direction to go is there a lot of demand for desktop or helpdesk jobs in the Sacramento or Bay Area? Any feedback would be appreciated. Also it seems there is some demand for storage administrators. Would it be worth going back to get some training on SAN, virtual disk management and tools used to manage storage devices? I worked on arrays for 6 years and wrote a couple of service manuals so I know array architecture pretty well. The fact is I haven't worked on arrays in years so perhaps landing a job in this space may be more difficult that getting into a desktop or helpdesk job.

Answer Wiki:
There are probably a lot of helpdesk and support jobs. Take a look at monster.com and dice.com and see what they show. You should also check out craigslist.com.
