Hi All, How do you change or modify the production database? What process do you follow in real-time when client(End user) needs any design change/modification in the applications? Thank, Sunny.

Modification of the Production Database is only to be done AFTER the changes have been tested out and validated on the trial-database or interim-database (there are a lot of other similar names). and the system found working properly. There is also the Configuration and Change Management Procedures that have to be followed with the proper documentation of the change required, reasons for the change, approvals for change by the CCC (Configuration Management Committee) and what not. Full details on how to run a Configuration and Change Management Procedures can be easily got from the net. This has to be done first BEFORE the item is moved to the trial database also.
