I recently purchased a new Dell Latitude laptop. My battery is fully charged but the laptop keeps turning off. It won't stay on at all (even if I'm plugged in). Is this a setting? Or should I take it back immediately? Thanks.

Sounds like a hardware issue is forcing a shut down. It could be bad or lose memory or hard drive.  You have taken the bad battery question out; as it still happens when plugged in. Depending on where you bought it they may take a look at it for you. It may be possible that something got loose during shipment. I would just ask them as you do not want to open it yourself and void a return or the warranty.

Yes, it could cause for hardware problems. Please don't play with your system as it is under warranty as it is a new one. Contact their customer care center for more help and they are the best person to solve this matter. There's almost certainly nothing you can do, and it's almost impossible to diagnose hardware problems through an internet forum (access to the system isn't possible). Return it for service.
