 DELL DIMENSION 8400 ALARM BELL
It started about a week ago, quite loud one second ring that repeats for about 15 minutes starting at 12:15 PM every day. I ran Malwarebytes on both HDD's - Nothing. My Oregon Scientific WMR 968 weather station has no alarms set. DELL is behind hardwired router firewall and running AVG anti-virus. Nothing new running. Rings from inside the box, rear, bottom. Just annoying. Can this be a low battery alarm?

Answer Wiki:
It is a hardware problem. Call Dell and if the server is under maintenance they will send someone to fix it.

Did you try and check temperatures for CPU, Cabinet and so on?

But it is strange that it starts at the same time, every day. Sounds like some kind of programmed alarm.

Have you had a look at event viewer ?

Since you know when it is about to begin, I would see a running process list ( with task manager ) before and after it has started, to see if there is some new process running when it is happening.

As it turned out, the weather station was causing the problem, but it wasn’t an alarm! Don’t know what it was. It disappeared after reinstalling the driver software.
