Once I type in a category (even if it is mispelled), I am not able to delete the category. The instructions state that the database designer must enable my ability to delete the category. I work for a large company, and their tech support people did not know the answer. Anyone know who the database designer is? Any ideas on how to delete a category?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Firstly,, check the following :
1- Files
2- database
3- Properties
4-Select the last tab ( Advance)
5- Check if the ” Allow Soft Deletion” is ticked or not

Secondly, Are you the only one having this problem ???? Could you try to access your lotus Notes on a different workstation and see if you still having this problem .

Try Tools/Preferences/Calendar & To Do & in Personal Categories just delete categories from the list.

In Lotus Notes 8.5, whilst in the "To Do" view, click on >More in the toolbar immediately above the list of To Do entries (not the one at the top of the window) click the >Calendar and To Do tab (if not already selected) then under >Display >Entries there is a list of Categories you can edit.Enjoy!
