Deleted Emails

Exchange, E-mail applications, Application security, Instant Messaging, Encryption, Database, secure coding, DataCenter

Hello

A user on my network deleted all his emails in the inbox and also emptied the deleted items in MS Outlook 2003. We are using POP3 email accounts. I have a backup of all the emails except for the day this happened. Is there any way to restore the emails?

Depends on their Outlook settings. If you've set the "leave a copy on the server" option then yes. If you shadow copy the PST file on a server, maybe. If they are just downloading their mail to their local PST file, no. Tell them a technical problem exists between chair and keyboard.

It’s depends on the users Outlook settings. If outlook is set to leave email on server for a number of days, then yes. You could setup another email profile and re-download those emails.

Hello,

With POP3 service your essentially downloading your messages from a mail host (ISP)and not actually storing them on your server. As far as I know your probably going to have to contact your ISP in hopes of recovering any messages you have not previously backed up.

Good Luck!
