 Deleted Driver
I reformatted an HP Pavilion xt963 computer with windows xp sp 3, I then went to connect to my dsl and no connection, I found out that the reformat deleted my nic driver. How can i download it? There is no network adapter section in my device manager, and I can't find the driver on hp's website, only the modem driver which is already on it. Any help will be appreciated

Answer Wiki:
Is it actually a card or built in to the motherboard? You should check this and then look for updates/drivers.

You maybe able to call HP and give them the serial # of the computer and they maybe able to tell you the driver you need for the nic. This of course is if there have not been any major changes to the computer, i.e new motherboard. I have also googled the manufacturer of the motherboard with the make and model and got drivers that way, this usually works if it is a built in nic. I would call HP direct with the serial number of the computer.

Per the product specifications on the HP website, this system did NOT include a network card. If you were connecting via DSL, you will need to check and see what type of NIC (Network Interface Card) is installed and then download the appropriate drivers. Many broadband ISP’s (Earthlink, for instance) give you a small number of dial-up hours each month: perhaps you can dial up to your provider and acquire the drivers that way?

In any event, best of luck…
