 Delete Mapped drives
Trying to delete mapped drives that appeared all to the same drive but with different letters there is an none of them are connected but when you click on them you can access the drive (its an external hard drive). When I try to net send h: /delete it reads cannot find drive. How do you get rid of these? Thank you, John

Answer Wiki:
If you are using the command line, the syntax is: net use x: /d (where x: is the drive in question) If you are using the GUI, the operation is right-click on the drive icon in the "My Computer" window and click on "Disconnect Drive". Bob

If I understand your question teh H: drive is an external hard drive? unplug it :) That will remove it…if you are looking to change dive letters for it use Disk Management…

Your profile hive may need cleanup. I had a similar issue after upgrading to Symantec Enterprise Edition 10. Client profiles were locking up when logging out which would tie up the mapped drive(s). You could view them, but nothing else. Search Microsoft for UPHClean.exe, download, install, and run. You may need to access the executable again as new users access clients where they have not previously had accounts established.

I just solved a very similar problem. It was caused by Symantec anti-virus corporate client v10. Here’s what I posted on another IT forum.

**************************************************
These undisconnectable drives were appearing on my W2k3 terminal server & WinXP computers. It appears the DoScan.exe file was causing this to happen. By default when Symantec corp v10 client is installed, it sets up a quick scan under the “Startup Scans” in the client console. I deleted this & rebooted.
Here’s the link I went to: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-security.nsf/4c7874c886a9bb0c88256fc700654267/f45ceefbf4e6d7bc88257019006dfaef?OpenDocument&src=bar_sch_nam

Hope this helps.
