 Delayed Mail message
One of our users has been receiving the following message. Anyone have an idea of how to keep it from happening. They say they receive it multiple times a day. This is the Symantec Mail Security program at host mail01.<domain>.com. #################################################################### # THIS IS A WARNING ONLY. YOU DO NOT NEED TO RESEND YOUR MESSAGE. # #################################################################### Your message could not be delivered for 4.0 hours. It will be retried until it is 5.0 days old. For further assistance, please send mail to <postmaster> If you do so, please include this problem report. You can delete your own text from the attached returned message. The Symantec Mail Security program <Followed by a list of email addresses and ip addresses> Outlook 2003 Windows XP Pro SP2 Exchange 03 Symantec Anti Virus

An email which they sent to someone at the domain listed in the message has been delayed for one reason or another. It could be that the mail server which is to receive the message is down, the message could be stuck in a queue waiting to be processed etc. There isn't anything you can to do stop them. Once the message has been delivered or times out the messages will stop. ============= The MX record for the domain could be pointing to an incorrect address. The host continues to attempt delivery to this bad address. Be sure that your DNS is configured properly and that the destination address is correct.
