Is there any way to kick off a defrag on windows 7 workstations when they reach a threshold of fragmentation? Can this be done on servers and xp laptops as well?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

You would need a third party tool to handle this. The native defrag utility can’t do this.

============
You cannot remove the defragmentation utility tool of any Windows Operating Sytsem. This is because it is already a utility software prebuilt with your Windows OS. If you don’t like that defragmentation utility, you can purchase a third party software that could defrag your hard disk.
