 Default Types in Oracle Parameter Screen

I am adding my default parameters to my stage. In the default type drop down box I see Constant, Current Date, Current Time, Field, Profile, SQL Statement and Segment. I know what most of them mean but have questions on Field, Profile and Segment. I have tried searching the web for answers but came up empty handed. In order to make my runs better it might be helpful to know what they mean and how to use them. Can anyone help me out here or point me to a descriptive document (maybe with examples as well)? Thanks....

I think you will need to specify what Oracle product you are using, since this doesn't seem to be related to the database or pl/sql as one might think when reading the question tags.
