how can I de-kit a part?

I would like to create a work order for a kit and in the bom reflect all the parts that make the kit.  By processing on transaction like say a 101movement I close work and have all the components of the kit in my stock, and kit is no -longer in stock.

Thus I de-kitted the Kit.

Did you ever receive an answer?  I have the exact same question.  I could reverse the original production order, but sometimes a lot of time has passed between the original production order and the de-kit process.  Plus, usually I only want to harvest a subset of the BOM and the remaining parts do not need to be received into stock.

Here is how I de-kit the kit:

1 - choose your order type (this process could introduce new mvmt types and account # - you need to make sure that it will work for your business)

2 - create the order using ONE material number from the kit that will be put away.  (I usually choose the most expensive).

3 - enter the qty of that material to be put away.

4 - go to component list and add these items:

      - material number of Kit and qty of kit (this will issue into order on 261mt)

      - list material number of each component that will be returned to stock with the qty as a NEGATIVE number ie  -15   (this will issue to inventory/stock on a 531 mt)

Depending on how your orders are configured, when you do the 101,  the Make material goes to stock; the kit issues in on a 261 and all other parts go to stock on 531.  The order will need to be settled to variance or cost center for any left over balance.

the balance is the parts that "do not need to be received in to stock"  decide what you will do with them.

    Regards
