Setup a spare server or even workstation temporarily with Server 2003. Promote it to a domain controller. Wait for replication. If you are going to reinstall the OS during business hours, you will need to setup the additional services like DNS and DHCP.

After the temp server is up and running. Demote the original server and reinstall the OS. Add it back as a DC.
