DB2/400 is databse of AS/400. Here we have Physical & Logical file concept. Different data types.

    There are several versions of db2, and they are different. The database used on the iSeries used to be called db2/400, but is now called db2/UDB. Its quite different than the PC based db2 versions.

    DB2 UDB is the name of all DB2s. DB2 UDB for Windows DB2 UDB for AIX even DB2 UDB for z/OS There is still confusion about these names because the first DB2 UDB was a "little" DB2 (on some platform other than big iron). Based on this, even today some people say UDB when they mean DB2 on LUW (Linux, Unix, Windows) to differentiate between DB2 for system z. But that is technically incorrect. Steve
