DB2 Web Query
Hi! Our server has already installed with DB2 web query. I have checked the basic things in licensed programs like QWEBQRC77(*lib) , MRADMIN(*usrprf)...everything is there. But when I try to start web query, the command is not available and also in license programs the web query shown like *INSTALLED(not *Compatible). We are using V6R1 version. Can you tell me how can check the admin details and start using the web query??

Software/Hardware used:
V6R1

If 5733QU2 is V1R1M2 and the OS is 6.1, then *INSTALLED is the appropriate status. There are various installation requirements, and steps need to be done in the correct sequence to ensure ownership and authorities are correct for product objects.

Review the DB2 Web Query for i Installation documents. Follow the ones marked R112 for your version. See if any of them show something that needs attention.

But when I try to start web query, the command is not available...
    .
How are you trying to start it? What command is unavailable? (Is a web server running?)

I don't have any detailed instructions other than IBM's. I would suggest two things. . First, sign on with a *ALLOBJ user profile and run WRKOBJ *ALL/STRWEBQRY. Verify if the command exists anywhere in your system. It should exist in library QWEBQRY76, and a proxy (attribute PRX) should be in QSYS. If a proxy command does not exist in QSYS, create one with CRTPRXCMD and see if it works and how the product works. That might be the only problem. . However, the second suggestion would be to run DLTLICPGM for 5733QU2, and then run RSTLICPGM again to reinstall it. Do this in a new session so that you can save a clean joblog after the installation finishes. Also, reinstall any PTFs for the product and save the joblog from any job that does those. . My guess would be that some problem happened during the original install. If you have the full joblog from that install, you should look it over in order to understand any unusual messages that appeared. . Somewhere in the joblog, there should be a point where the proxy STRWEBQRY command would be created. At that point, or earlier, there should be one or more messages describing some problem. . If you remove and reinstall, the same problem should be logged. Until that is located, there is no predicting what condition the product is in. . For example, your system might have restrictions on creating proxy commands or on creating them in QSYS. There's not much I can do about problems like that, but until they're found, there is no good advice available. . Tom

I think its ok with that. when i try to access on the browser, its giving 500 Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, [no address given] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. Bcoz, I'm not able to access the AS400 Server File System through windows run command like //192.xxx.xxx.xxx. The error is //192.xxx.xxx.xxx is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. i think this is the problem. Can you tell me how can i get rid of this ?? Surey.

    .
I don't understand what you mean. Why would "windows run command" have any way to know what you mean by a command like "//192.xxx.xxx.xxx"?
    .
Do you mean Windows Explorer? If so, I'm not clear what that has to do with DB2 Web Query.
    .
As you mentioned, i have done those configuration.
    .
    What steps did you do?
    .
It doesn't really matter. If you got that far, it shows that the original install did work part of the way but did not complete. And if we don't have a joblog from that install, there is no way to determine what happened.
    .
So, the product needs to be removed with DLTLICPGM and re-installed with RSTLICPGM as mentioned earlier. And the complete joblog needs to be kept from that install until the product is working.
