Hello I created metadata over a a "set" of files. My next step is to define a primary over one of the files, and then foreign keys over the other files defined in my metadata relational database. Unfortunately, when I attempt to define my primary key over the main file, I receive an SQL error message. I was able to determine that this is attributed to certain field names in the file beginning with special characters such as @, or $ which evidently SQL can not handle. So, my question is, does anyone have a work around, or, do I need to rename all my fields in the relational database prior to creating the metadata ? Thank you for your feedback.

Hi

In the meantime, I created the metadata withouth the join constraints. I am wondering if anyone can help me with 2 additional questions.

(1). I have a field called member no, which is actually the social security no. I would like to put a mask on this field, and yet, when I look at th field selection format options, this is not one of the choices. So, not sure how to do this.

(2). For now, since I am a beginner in DB2 Web Query Design, I am just querying the main file. (Member master file). I have no selection criteria at this point, and yet when I click on run report, I am only picking up the last record of the Member Master File. In total there are 4.046 records. So, since I don’t have any selection criteria, why am I not picking up the other records ?

Hello

Well, I realized my confusion with respects to why I was only picking up one member no., when the file that I was querying has over 4,00 members in it.

My member no., field was in the sort by window pane, and, was doing a summation by this field.

So, the question is, how do I select fields that I want in my report, without having them appear in the sort by window pane.
