db2 to excel

i was tryin to import from db2/400 into excel but when i did. the description came up in a different language...in db2/400 the description was in araic then when i imported in excel it came up a different language?? any idea plz helpĀ  thank you

I am not sure what language the original information was written in but Arabic will not translate directly to English.

    I'm pretty sure it didn't come up in a different language. However, it's quite possible that it came up in a different alphabet. What languages are installed on the PC? What region is the PC configured for? What languages are installed in your AS/400? What CCSID is the DB2 table and column in? What is the AS/400 QCCSID system value? Tom
