DB2 Automated Utilities - Vendor selection

IT architecture, Vendors, CIO, MVS, OS/390/z/OS, UDB for mainframe, z/OS, OS/390, DB2

We use the IBM utilities suite and our own in-house utilities automation for DB2 v7.

Our automated utilities is now draining us with heavy maintenance and since V7, there are still a few holes that could cause us some serious damage if not fixed in the near future. However, with V8, we would definitely have problems and we have justified the evaluation of an Automated Utility toolset. This would need to be in place before we go to V8.

I am of the opinion that we should have one suite for the purpose of DB2 maintenance, backup and recovery, thinking that multiple vendor support here would become a 'mare.

We are also well vested in IBM's utilities across development staff who maintain their own data in the development subsystems.

Has anyone done this excercise - if so, which product did you select? and a any additional comments would be great.
thank you.

Have you looked at Quest Software's (www.quest.com) offerings? They sell some really good DB2 utilities that might work well for you.

MisterMac,
We use Foglight and Quest Central on our distributed side. I checked the web-site and did not find anything that looked like an automation tool for image copies and reorgs - did I miss something ?
