Q:
Data transfer from EXCEL using AS400 add-in to AS400 physical file
If EXCEL is the starting point, how can I make the user specify the file name to transfer the EXCEL info to. Or how can I lock a predetermined file until after the transfer is complete?

Thanks in advance

There are several ways to do this. Here are two just off the top of my head.

1.) Have the user save the excel sheet to the IFS as a CSV, and then use CPYFRMIMPF to copy the CSV to the file on the file in question.

2.) Use the data transfer option in client access to load the data directly from the spread sheet.
