I do all my business from my laptop, my question is what is the best way to restore my files and folders along with my OS in case of a virus or machine failure? Thank you. ~Akhtar

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Create good backups, Second Copy is a good, fast, and cheap backup solution for home users, or you could consider imaging your whole drive with a program such as Norton Ghost.

Having a backup is always better, you can use basefolder app and you can access your home system files from anywhere. basefolder has optional cloud storage facility as well.

Get yourself a good external hard drive and do a backup of your system, at a minimum, on a weekly basis.  There are quite a few portable external hard drives that can be powered by the laptop and if you get one of those, and I highly suggest you do, you can then save your data onto the external instead of the laptop.  The, if the worse happens, you at least know that your files are safe and then all you have to do is re-install the OS.

just backup your system and files on a regular basis
and, of course, use good antivirus and firewall, always scan your system to find viruses and system errors in time

We use both Second Copy and Ghost here at work.. Both seem to work fine and have had no issues with either.
