Hi Rastapickney,
I’m the assistant site editor for <a href="http://SearchDataManagement.com" title="http://SearchDataManagement. " target="_blank">SearchDataManagement.com</a>. I recently posted chapter excerpts from the book ‘Data Mining: Know it All’. It gives a nice overall view of what data mining is and some great examples. It might be a good place to start to get an idea of the importance of data mining and how it all works.
You can read the excerpt at <a href="http://searchdatamanagement.techtarget.com/generic/0,295582,sid91_gci1353635,00.html" title="http://searchdatamanagement.techtarget.com/generic/0,295582,sid91_gci1353635,00.html" target="_blank">http://searchdatamanagement.techtarget.c…</a>
Let me know if this helps and if you have any Qs.
–Justin
