 Data Execution Prevention Disable Problem
This control can be found in Windows Vista. Business, Enterprise version. I purchased a Dell XPS 1530 for one of our solution architect.Runs on a 4GB DDR ram. He needs to run MS Visual Studio.Net for programming as well as IIS stuffs. The thing is whenever he compiles a particular code, the DEP function stops it from completing. Prompts and gives instruction to disable DEP from the advance settings options. So, thats what i did, tried to disable the function and disabling it did not work, the system wont allow me to disable it. Therefore i ventured into F8 mode and did manage to disable it. Well, after restarting it normally. the DEP function just went back to "Enabled" automatically. Then, my next solution was "googling" for solutions and came about a a BSD kinda code line to run and force disable the DEP function(the code tampers with the registry). Well, Wallah! it did disable the DEP function. BUT, that is where the biG problem started, the whole machine went into BLUE SCREEN! and there was not way that i can bring it back to Windows. The only things was to format it and until now, i am out of ideas to solve this problem. I hope someone can shed some light on my sorrow for this DEP nightmare!
