As far as encryption goes, you have a lot of possibilities…simply google “encryption software” and choose one you like.

Also, this is a great laptop tool especially for those who travel a lot:

Hope this helps!

“Protect data in the travel laptop …” you’d think that would be explicit enough.
What’s the operating system?
Encrypt all data? Encrypt the whole hard drive? Or encrypt only a folder? One drawback to folder encryption is the possibility that unencrypted, deleted files can be recovered.
Will you need to be able to centrally administer the encrypted system / files (retain an administrator access)?

I lean toward truecrypt, but I don’t know what you need.

In any case, use a strong password. Too often people will defeat a good encryption design by using an easily guessed password.

Most laptop manufacturers now have hard drive encryption software that ships with the laptops themselves already installed. You might want to search the maker of your laptops web site for any applications and might even find some that are free for use on their pc's. I know Lenovo and HP are doing this now shipping laptops with harddrive encryption software ready to use. I hope this helps.

Another option is to use Microsoft’s built in Encryption capabilities (assuming you have Microsoft products). For Office 2007 products (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access) – just click on the Office button, Select Prepare & Encrypt document. Of course, the onus is on you (the user/customer) to encrypt the sensitive documents. This way, only the needed sensitive document is encrypted. Be sure to remember the Password!!!
