When using Excel's add-in to download data from a PF to excel, it brings only 65536 rows. Why not 1048576 rows as per the limit in excel? Do we need some PTF on IBMi? or a service pack for client server?

Check the file extension. IF the file was saved as an Earlier version of Excel it may be using the limits based on that version and not the one you are currently running. The reason might be because if it is a shard file and you go past the lower version limit other will not be able to use it.

I think Todd is right. I seem to recall that the Excel Add-in only downloads in the .xls format and not the .xlsx format. The .xls format of course is the older format and has a smaller restriction on the number of rows that a spreadsheet can accommodate.

Upgrade the add-in you are using. Later versions can handle the extra rows.

Yes, check the file version and if possible you can open the file in upper version in compatible mode, if supports. Also you can convert the file in readable format that next version can open it.
