Daily full backups successfull but..

Backup, Exchange 2003, Backup & recovery, Storage, Exchange Server backup

Hello all,
The Byte Count of Daily full backup of two servers (2003 domain and exchange 2003, both standard version)has been shown between 99 to 101 GB except two nights ago it showed 74 GB and then the start showing 99 to 100 GB again(Byte Count). All these jobs were successfull and verified, I know that 25 GB data was not disappred for one night and put back the next night. Anyone has experienced this situation?

I'm not sure about this ... however, you may want to check to ensure that no one else ran an offline defrag (using eseutil) or something like this. This would be one way of reducing the physical space like you've explained.
