Dear All
I have some meory issues and rang system scan with Norton, checked spyware, checked taskmanager servives and then downloaded very good tool called The Ultimate troubleshooter etc and now needs some guidance as to a number of instances of svchost.exe etc which have an extension after the exe:-
11 services running with svchost.exe - k netsvcs
Automatice updates with scvhost.exe - k wugroup
Background Intelligent Transfer services with scvhost.exe - k BITSgroup
I would apprecaite if you could advise whether these are ok as my system is not advising me that they are not.
Many thanks Jessica

Halo jesica,
type in Google the following string
“svchost.exe -k” and you will find your answears.
Alex
Thank you for your help:-
I noticed an error below in my original request e.g quoting scvhost.exe which I know is a bug – sorry for misleading.
I understand that although memory draining they are required by windows. The following link from others was very helpful in case anybody else asks and it noted all the 3 occurances I had.

Thank you Jessica
Jessica,
They seem to be OK, although many. At this very moment I have 8 fairly heavy-duty programs running at the same time, of which 6 have connected to the internet as well and are fairly busy. According to the task manager i have 3 instances of svchost. Catch my drift? If possible have an expert they for all security. By the way what is your memory problem?
