 Custom entry in BOM (Bill of Materials)

In our bill of materials i wish to include a custom entry (not existant in the items master data) into the mix, the entry is to be called TIME and will have its own equation to calculate it. the questions is this? is there a way in SAP to enter this equation so that it may be performed automatically for every item? if so then please state the steps to do so. If not then please suggest another approach? NOTE: I am using SAPB1 (that's sap business one)
