 Adding field to Crystal Report, all data disappears

I have a Crystal Report. I have a user defined field. When I add this field to my report, nothing is displayed. What's the problem?

I assume you are referring to a formula you have created?
You said nothing is displayed. Does that mean the field itself is not displayed or when it is placed on the report, the data that was currently on the report is not displayed any longer? If it is a formula, can you show the code for your formula?
