Hi I've created a formula in a subreport that contains a shared variable, i've used basic syntax so the used is: shared dShar_Value as double dim nAmount as number dim nNumMonths as number nAmount = {Document/Contributions.Amount} nNumMonths = {Document/Contribution.NumMonths} dShar_Value = nAmount * nNumMonths formula = dShar_Value Can anyone tell me the the basic syntax to use to pass the shared value back to the main report please?  Kind Thanks

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

I managed to sort this out now, the formula I used was (in Basic syntax):

shared dShar_Value as double

formula = dShar_Value

I placed this on the main report but made sure that the SubReport was placed in the Title section so that the subreport would return the value first.

Can anyone tell me how to sumarise a formula field?

Thanks
